If you follow football, you might be interested in NFL Forecaster, a application that allows you to predict winners and spreads and keep track of team performance and ranking.
NFL Forecaster is a low-resource, simple app. It looks old-fashioned, however, and it's not easy to figure out how it works the first time you use it. The main interface is a mess of windows and graphs, but luckily the help files are very complete and with a little effort you'll soon be using the program to rank teams and predict winners. NFL Forecaster will ask you to pick a week and then enter the scores for that week's games. Ideally, you'll begin at the start of the season, but you can use the program at any time of the year.
Based on your input, NFL Forecaster will predict scores and spreads, rank the teams and schedule future games, leaving you free to concentrate on the football. Some users are going to find all that manual entering of results a little too intense, and if you do try the inputting, the information you get in return is pretty heavy stuff. Even so, if you're serious about football, NFL Forecaster will be worth the effort.
